Flathead Bank was founded by a group of local businessmen in 1971 to provide the residents of the East Shore of Flathead Lake a hometown bank. It was only nine years later that the bank outgrew the original location overlooking Bigfork Bay and moved to the present site on the corner of Highway 35 and Grand Avenue.
In 1994, Flathead Bank opened a branch in Lakeside on the West Shore of Flathead Lake. In January of 2003 Valley Bank of Belgrade and Valley Bank of Ennis were merged with Flathead Bank adding three more locations.
In July 2004, Flathead Bank purchased the Bank of Glacier County in Cut Bank, making it the newest branch.
With the opening of our new full service branch at Hutton Ranch in Kalispell, there are now 6 branches and 7 locations to serve the various communities.
